Acoustic
Design
Designing a university residence means designing coexistence: studying while someone else is listening to music, sleeping while others are socialising, and having a conversation without everyone hearing it.
For this reason, sound insulation between spaces becomes a key aspect of the project. Ensuring acoustic privacy and comfort means allowing students to use the spaces freely, without disturbing others or being disturbed themselves.
Lightweight materials, high performance.
Living together, while remaining acoustically separated.
At the Mancinelli Campus, the acoustic design addresses this challenge within a timber building featuring CLT floor slabs, platform-frame walls, and lightweight drywall partitions. Here, acoustics is not only about meeting regulatory requirements, but about creating real conditions for comfort, transforming a shared living environment into a place where people can feel comfortable every day.
