Acoustic
Design
Working on the Cavallerizza Reale means engaging with a historic building where every design decision must respect and preserve its existing identity. In this context, acoustics cannot be imposed; it must be carefully calibrated. Spaces of different sizes and functions require tailored solutions capable of providing appropriate acoustic conditions without invasive interventions.
Here, acoustics does not add; it integrates.
The goal is not to do more, but to do what is needed.
The project focuses on optimising acoustic performance—including sound insulation, reverberation control, and building services noise—through targeted interventions developed only to the extent necessary to improve existing conditions without compromising the character of the building.
This approach is based on balance and restraint: doing what is necessary to improve acoustic quality rather than imposing performance for its own sake. The result is an approach that remains coherent with the architecture, minimises the impact of interventions, and adapts to the new functions of the spaces.
