In the redevelopment of the former Sant’Agostino Hospital, acoustics supports the transformation of a major historic complex in the heart of Modena, destined to host cultural, educational, and hospitality functions.
For the entire complex, we carried out the noise impact assessment of the new building services systems. This was a particularly sensitive aspect of the project within a densely built historic context, where noise control is essential to ensure compatibility between the new intervention and the surrounding urban environment.
Regenerating without introducing new disturbance.
Enhancing comfort without altering the identity of the spaces.
For lots 3 and 4, the focus shifted to indoor acoustic comfort, including background noise control and reverberation management.
The design was developed with careful consideration of the building’s historic character and architectural features, through discreet interventions capable of improving comfort without altering the identity of the spaces.
